Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Judith Whitmer Calls for Unity and Hard Work in the Wake of 2021 Elections

LAS VEGAS — Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Judith Whitmer released the following statement after preliminary results of the 2021 elections in Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and elsewhere were released:

“These election results should be a wake-up call for Democrats here in Nevada and across the country. Though many of the races remain uncalled, we saw some devastating losses and some races that never should have been this close. As Democrats, it has never been more important that we come together, work like hell to protect the vote and ensure poll access for all of our citizens, and deliver on the promises of Build Back Better,” said Whitmer. “America’s working families are suffering and the climate crisis is on a frightening trajectory. We need to come together and seal the deal.”

“If we have learned anything at all tonight, it is that we cannot afford to under-deliver on our promises, nor can we afford to split or fracture our efforts to elect more Democrats to office. Now is the time to come together and deliver for people. The margins are too small and the risk is too great to do anything but commit to working together to keep Nevada blue. We call on all Nevada Democrats to join in this united fight; our future depends on it.”
