NV Dems Statement on Congressional Primary Election Results

Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II released the following statements on the Congressional primary election results:

Congressional District 1: “Las Vegas is lucky to have a leader in Dina Titus who has brought progress back to her district for nearly a decade. As dean of our delegation, Dina has led the charge in so many important fights–from stopping efforts to reopen Yucca Mountain to ensuring every community got much-needed relief from the impact of coronavirus. There’s no doubt Dina will continue to put in the work to ensure our families and our economy recover from this pandemic.”

Congressional District 2: “Northern Nevada deserves a leader in Congress willing to stand up to Trump and his dangerous agenda–someone who will put every day Nevadans over the ultra-wealthy, who will be a champion for veterans, and who will work to increase access to affordable health care, not rip care away from hundreds of thousands in our state. Patricia Ackerman is that leader. She isn’t afraid to stand up and fight back on the issues that matter most to Nevadans and she is the strongest candidate to face Mark Amodei in November.”

Congressional District 3: “Susie Lee has spent her career working on behalf of Nevadans, lifting up our students, veterans, and working families. In Congress, she held Betsy DeVos accountable for this administration’s harmful policies protecting for-profit universities over students. She went to bat to ensure the federal relief package included paid leave. Susie is the bipartisan problem solver Nevadans deserve and I have no doubt she will once again claim victory over another toxic Dan.”

Congressional District 4: “Steven Horsford has a long record of fighting on behalf of Nevadans, from his time leading the Nevada Senate to finding common ground in the House of Representatives. He’s fighting to lower prescription drug costs, expand access to affordable health care, and ensure every Nevadan has an equal opportunity at success. As a native Nevadan who grew up and built a life in North Las Vegas, no one understands the families of his district better than him.”
