Last night, the Nevada State Democratic Party hosted a new virtual event aimed at highlighting the work of seasoned organizers and inspiring new volunteers just joining our community of Democratic activists. The story hour was widely attended by new NV Dems volunteers and underscored the value of organizing in our communities.
The event was hosted by NV Dems Executive Director Alana Mounce and guests included Lyon County Chair Judy Zabolocky, DNC Committeeman Alex Goff, Human Rights Campaign Nevada State Director Briana Escamilla, NV Dems Organizer Yesenia Moya, and long-time volunteers Jane Grossman and Aaron Ibarra. Guests shared their best stories from their experience working to elect Democrats and promote progressive causes.
“I started my career in politics as an organizer and many of my experiences still inspire my work today,” said Nevada State Democratic Party Executive Director Alana Mounce. “It was so great to hear from some amazing veteran organizers who have worked tirelessly to elect Democrats across Nevada and I was grateful to be a part of the conversation. NV Dems’ success has been in large part due to the incredible volunteers who donate their time to make phone calls and knock on doors. I am sure hearing some of their stories inspired new volunteers to join our Democratic community and defeat Donald Trump in November.”
