Trump Brings his Failed Campaign to Reno

After losing Washoe County in 2016 to Hillary Clinton and watching his endorsed candidates get crushed in 2018, the Trump campaign still believes Nevada is in play and is opening an office in Reno.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Molly Forgey released the following statement:

“The Trump campaign couldn’t be in a worse position in Nevada as they approach one year out from the general election. They named failed gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt as a campaign co-chair, the lone Republican congressman from Nevada publicly supports the impeachment inquiry, and Democrats continuously out-register Republicans forcing the GOP down a path to becoming the equivalent of a third party in Clark County.

“And despite Donald Trump’s devastating loss in Washoe County in 2016 and NV Dems’ success in flipping the swing county in 2018 for the first time in a midterm in nearly a decade, the GOP is committed to an alternate reality in which they believe Reno is ‘Trump Country.’

“As the GOP moves to cancel their caucus, we are working in every county registering Democrats, recruiting volunteers, and training Nevadans on the caucus process. Next February, Nevada Democrats will elect the nominee who will go on to defeat Trump in 2020.”
