Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus Denounces McConnell Super PAC’s Anti-Immigrant Attacks on Heller’s Behalf

The Senate Leadership Fund, a Washington-based Super PAC allied with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell supporting Sen. Dean Heller’s re-election bid, has launched misleading new ads this week attacking Congresswoman Jacky Rosen over immigration. The ad is filled with false insinuations aimed at vilifying Latino immigrants, similar to President Trump’s constant attacks on the Latino community.

The Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus released the following statement denouncing these outside attacks intended to demonize immigrants:

“We stand with Jacky Rosen and firmly denounce these offensive and misleading Trump-inspired attack ads intended to demonize Latino immigrants. Since Dean Heller can’t run on his out-of-touch record siding with Trump to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and vote against bipartisan immigration reform solutions, Mitch McConnell’s Super PAC allies have resorted to attacks that seek to divide us instead of working together to fix our immigration system. Jacky Rosen has been fighting and advocating for our community every step of the way in Congress, and she supports commonsense immigration reform that will create a path to citizenship for those who have stayed out of trouble, grow Nevada’s economy, and keep our communities safe. This smear attack is straight out of Trump’s anti-immigrant playbook, but Nevada rejected these politics of division in 2016 and will do it again in 2018 when we elect Jacky Rosen to the Senate!”
