Danny Tarkanian was quoted in the Review Journal last week on the subject of the Affordable Care Act’s protections for people with pre-existing conditions: “‘I don’t believe you should force private insurance companies to’ cover people with pre-existing conditions, he said.” Danny has never before admitted publicly that he opposes any protections for people with pre-existing conditions, but has a long record opposing the protections in the Affordable Care Act. Danny has been loudly claiming that he supports preserving protection for pre-existing conditions, and attacking Democratic candidate Susie Lee for accurately portraying his position.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Michael Soneff released the following statement:
“Danny Tarkanian has been lying to the public about his stance on pre-existing conditions, and now he let the truth slip out. Danny believes that Nevadans with pre-existing conditions should get no protection, and should be at the mercy of insurance companies. His position is badly out-of-step with the communities he hopes to represent, and does not reflect Nevada values.”
