Heller Must Explain Why He Voted Against Election Security Funding for States

Earlier today, Sen. Dean Heller voted against an amendment that would have provided an additional $250 million in grant money for states to bolster their election security systems.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Sarah Abel released the following statement:

“After Russia’s unprecedented attacks on our democracy in the last presidential election, Sen. Dean Heller owes Nevadans an explanation for why he voted against critical funding for states that could help protect the integrity of our elections in the future. Given Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election, Dean Heller should be fighting to ensure that it doesn’t happen again instead of just being a loyal rubber stamp for Republicans in Washington.”
