While Congresswoman Jacky Rosen is leading the charge in the House to combat the GOP lawsuit in federal court pushing to invalidate coverage protections for pre-existing conditions, Sen. Dean Heller has been sitting on the sidelines—because he supports the Republican health care agenda.
It’s been over a month since the Trump Administration announced that it was supporting a Republican legal challenge arguing the Affordable Care Act’s pre-existing conditions protections are unconstitutional, and here’s how Heller has responded:
Last month, Heller refused to answer whether he disagrees with the Trump Administration’s argument that the ACA’s protections for pre-existing conditions are unconstitutional.
Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Sarah Abel released the following statement:
“From pushing his own radical plan that would slash coverage protections for pre-existing medical conditions to refusing to stand up against President Trump’s latest effort in court to dismantle those consumer protections, Sen. Dean Heller keeps proving that he does not care about defending Nevadans’ access to affordable health care. Nevada families need a senator who will have their back on this and fight to protect pre-existing conditions protections, and it’s crystal clear that person is Jacky Rosen—not Dean Heller.”
