Today, the NV Dems launched a new issue page on AskLaxalt.com, focusing on Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt’s dismissal of Nevada’s energy and environmental priorities. Tomorrow, June 1st, is the anniversary of Pres. Trump’s withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Accord.
Laxalt has ignored repeated attempts to clarify his positions on Nevada’s job-creating clean energy industry and protecting Nevada’s environment. Meanwhile, he challenged the Clean Power Plan in court but refused to say whether he supports Trump’s decision to phase out the plan, against the wishes of fellow Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Nevada State Democratic Party spokeswoman Helen Kalla released the following statement:
“Adam Laxalt has made it clear he doesn’t think creating clean-energy jobs and protecting our environment are priorities. Instead, he’s focused on pursuing a frivolous lawsuit against the wishes of Gov. Sandoval, all in the name of fighting supposed ‘federal overreach.’ It’s obvious that Laxalt is the wrong choice to usher in Nevada’s clean energy future.”
The NV Dems launched AskLaxalt.com to reveal Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt’s dodges and radical views on a range of key issues. Each week, a new issue page will be rolled out to remind Nevadans just how out of step Laxalt is on issues that matter to them.
