Heller Runs Away from Reporter Question About Trump Policy of Separating Immigrant Families at the Border

When Sen. Dean Heller addressed the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce yesterday, he kicked off his speech by disparaging reporters, saying all the media wants to talk about is Stormy Daniels and the Mueller investigation.

But when a local reporter tried to ask Heller a substantive question after the event about the Trump Administration’s heartless practice of separating immigrant children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border—well, Heller courageously walked away and declined to comment.

Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Sarah Abel released the following statement:

“It shouldn’t be this hard for Sen. Heller to find the words to speak out against the Trump Administration’s heartless policy of tearing children and families apart at the border. But Sen. Heller is too craven to criticize President Trump, too partisan to oppose his anti-immigrant agenda in Washington, and too spineless to answer substantive questions from the press—proving once again that he doesn’t deserve re-election.”
