Adam Laxalt has no shame about awkwardly dodging questions — not even one about his silence on the rampant allegations of sexual misconduct against his political ally.
When a voter was finally able to ask Laxalt in person about the controversy, Laxalt walked away and refused to explain why he continues to stand by his endorser, Storey County Sheriff Gerald Antinoro, who was accused of raping a woman while in uniform and was found by an independent investigation to have sexually harassed a former deputy, who is now suing him.
Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Helen Kalla released the following statement:
“Adam Laxalt’s thorough dismissal of the growing controversy surrounding his endorser’s alleged behavior is disgusting and insulting to Nevada women. Why does Laxalt continue to side with a sexual predator instead of standing up for the ‘numerous’ women he’s allegedly abused? Laxalt is literally turning his back on the opportunity to show Nevada women he stands with them — and they won’t forget whose side he chose.”
