The NV Dems are calling on Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt to return the $10,000 contribution he received from disgraced former RNC official and GOP mega-donor Elliott Broidy. Broidy maxed out to Laxalt’s campaign last July, the only Nevada candidate he donated to this cycle.
Today, Broidy resigned his post as deputy RNC finance chair after the Wall Street Journal reported that he paid $1.6 million in hush money to a former Playboy model he impregnated. The settlement deal was negotiated by Donald Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen, who is under criminal investigation by the Department of Justice.
Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Helen Kalla released the following statement:
“Adam Laxalt is thick as thieves with now two disgraced former RNC finance officials, the other being alleged sexual predator Steve Wynn. Laxalt’s tolerance of the unscrupulous behavior coming from Trump’s swamp creatures brings shame on Nevada, and he should immediately return Broidy’s contribution. By keeping it, Laxalt makes it clear he’ll look the other way if it means getting stacks of cash for his campaign coffers.
