A new six-figure ad buy from Dan Schwartz’s campaign attacking Adam Laxalt is further proof of a divisive Republican primary brewing in the race for governor. Laxalt’s ethics scandals, ties to special interests, and lack of real solutions will remain front and center as the bitter GOP primary plays out.

Republican gubernatorial candidate and Treasurer Dan Schwartz has launched a pair of TV ads, becoming the first governor hopeful to go up with commercials.
A second, 15-second commercial opens up with a line from a Reno Gazette-Journal opinion piece calling Laxalt an “empty suit.” It features shots of a grinning Laxalt and scrolls through a list of donations the attorney general has taken.
“Adam Laxalt answers few questions and offers no solutions, taking money from about every lobbyist and casino in town,” the voiceover says. “He can’t provide the adult leadership Nevadans deserve.”
Schwartz’s campaign manager, Rory McShane, said the ads are now playing on cable and online and constitute a six-figure ad buy.
A representative for Laxalt’s gubernatorial campaign didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about the ads.
