NV Dems Announce New Executive Director Alana Mounce

Las Vegas, NV – Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II announced today that the State Party has hired Alana Mounce to serve as Executive Director heading into the 2018 election cycle. Alana comes to the NV Dems with extensive experience working on competitive campaigns in battleground states, including Nevada, and a strong background in field organizing. Alana most recently worked as the Deputy National Political Director for former Labor Secretary Tom Perez’s successful campaign for DNC Chair.

During the 2016 general election, Alana was the Organizing Director for the Democratic coordinated campaign effort in Colorado. Before that, Alana was the Deputy Organizing Director for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in Nevada, overseeing Washoe County through the First in the West caucus. Alana has also worked at the White House during the Obama Administration and on statewide campaigns for Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and former Alaska Senator Mark Begich. Alana got her start in politics as a Field Organizer in Las Vegas for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

“I’m excited to announce Alana’s hire, and I’m confident she’ll do a fantastic job leading our team as we gear up for an election cycle with so many important races at stake,” said William McCurdy II. “Our state party helped turn Nevada blue up and down the ballot in 2016, and Alana is going to help us get it done again in 2018. Alana’s grassroots organizing experience, her in-depth knowledge of our state and her relationships with Nevada activists will all serve her well as our next Executive Director.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining one of the best state party organizations in the country, and I’m ready to hit the ground running so we can be successful in 2018,” said Alana Mounce. “We’ve got big goals for next year: replacing Dean Heller in the Senate, maintaining our seats in the House, winning back our statewide constitutional offices, and expanding our legislative majorities in Carson City. Nevada is where I got my start in politics, and I’m excited to be back in this new role.”

“I look forward to working with Alana in her new role as the state party’s Executive Director,” said Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. “Alana’s extensive background and expertise are exactly what the party needs to keep our momentum going. I’m confident in her ability to help Nevada Democrats continue to gain more seats at the table and fight on behalf of Nevada’s families. Alana’s leadership will be critical to our success as a party in 2018.”
