Las Vegas, NV – Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II issued the following statement congratulating Democrats Steve Seroka and Kiernan McManus on their wins in Tuesday’s Clark County municipal races:
“Steve Seroka ran a terrific grassroots campaign to replace an out-of-touch Republican incumbent and restore the voice of the people of Ward 2 at City Hall, and his impressive 30-year military career will serve him well on the Las Vegas City Council. In Boulder City, Kiernan McManus will be a fierce advocate for his community’s rich history, unique traditions, and exceptional quality of life. Thank you to every Democratic candidate in Clark County who stepped up to run in these important local races, and I look forward to celebrating many more victories together at the ballot box in 2018.”
The Nevada State Democratic Party invested in an aggressive field program to support candidates for Las Vegas City Council. In Ward 2, the State Party’s organizers and volunteers knocked 5,000+ doors, made 10,000+ calls, sent 8,000+ texts and ultimately activated more than 600 new non-typical municipal voters in this race.
