Statement on Attorney General Laxalt’s Train Wreck Hearing

Carson City, NVNevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Stewart Boss released the following statement on the Legislature’s joint hearing today with testimony from Attorney General Adam Laxalt and Gaming Control Board Chair A.G. Burnett:

“Tonight, we learned two explosive facts. The Gaming Control Board is so uncomfortable with Attorney General Laxalt’s actions that they asked him to recuse himself as their counsel on this matter, and it was Governor Sandoval’s office that apparently was so deeply alarmed that they counseled A.G. Burnett to turn the tape over to the FBI. No wonder Adam Laxalt’s former employer called him “a train wreck” with judgment issues who needed to be babysat by other attorneys. This hearing further exposed the awkward details of this ethics controversy and underscored just how improper it was for Adam Laxalt to abuse his office by acting as a minion for his favorite billionaire Sheldon Adelson. It’s clear this story isn’t over.”
