Roberson, Senate GOP Vote Against Resolution Urging Congress Not to Repeal the Affordable Care Act

Carson City, NV – In an ongoing effort to move on from his bruising primary defeat to Danny Tarkanian and take another shot at higher office, GOP Senate boss and aspiring Lieutenant Governor Michael Roberson led his entire caucus in voting against a joint resolution today urging Congress not to repeal the Affordable Care Act and to maintain federal funding for health care providers like Planned Parenthood.

“While Nevada Democrats are asking D.C. Republicans to finally give up their campaign to repeal the Affordable Care Act and defund Planned Parenthood, Senator Roberson and his band of right-wing extremists just voted to encourage Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to continue their reckless partisan attacks against the ACA and women’s health care,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Stewart Boss. “Republicans like Governor Sandoval have stood up for Nevada and spoken out against repealing the ACA and rolling back Medicaid expansion. Republicans like Senator Roberson and Senator Hammond should spend less time worrying about how they’ll win a Republican primary next year and more time considering whether their constituents might die, get sick or go bankrupt without the Affordable Care Act and affordable health care providers like Planned Parenthood.”
