National Journal Ranks Dean Heller As Most Vulnerable GOP Senator in 2018

Las Vegas, NV – National Journal published its first rankings for U.S. Senate races most likely to flip parties in the 2018 election cycle and ranked Nevada’s Dean Heller as the most vulnerable Republican on the map and the fourth most likely incumbent Senator to lose their seat next year. According to National Journal, “Heller is Democrats’ top target, one cycle after the party carried Nevada at the presidential level, held an open Senate seat, and flipped two House seats.”

“Senator Heller’s consistent support for repealing the Affordable Care Act, defunding Planned Parenthood, and voting for 100 percent of the Trump agenda puts him out of touch with Nevada’s values,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Stewart Boss. “But because he often flip-flops and has no core, Heller has managed to simultaneously become the number one target for Democrats while also alienating his Republican base. Dean Heller has skated by as a sub-par career politician in Washington, with the lack of work product to show for it, but his laziness and ineffectiveness has made him the most vulnerable GOP Senator on the map. Nevada families deserve a champion who will stand up for them in the U.S. Senate, and that’s why they’ll elect a Democrat to replace Dean Heller next year.”
