Senator Dean Heller Has Plenty of Time for Fundraisers, Ignoring Press and Refusing Town Hall Requests

Las Vegas, NV – While Republican Senator Dean Heller spent his first recess of the year dodging interview requests from the press and refusing to hold a public town hall with his constituents, he’s already making plans to ‘kick off’ his endangered re-election bid next month — with an exclusive fundraiser.

“It’s no surprise to anyone that Senator Heller feels more comfortable behind closed doors at a fancy fundraiser, with plenty of applause from his favorite lobbyists and a minimal amount of booing,” said Roberta Lange, Nevada State Democratic Party Chair. “Unfortunately for Dean Heller, next year’s election will be decided by Nevada voters who are furious that their Senator won’t even talk to them and is threatening their access to health care by trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act. No amount of money is going to be able to clean up Dean Heller’s extreme, pro-Trump record.”
