NV Dems Statement on Hispanic Heritage Month

Las Vegas, NVToday, Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange released the following statement celebrating the start of Hispanic Heritage Month:

“As we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month today, few states have benefited more from the contributions, culture and hard work of Latinos than Nevada. Democrats are committed to fighting for the Latino community, whether it’s championing immigration reform, quality education or a living wage for hard-working families. This year, we’re proud to be working to elect Catherine Cortez Masto as the first Latina ever to the U.S. Senate and Ruben Kihuen as the first Latino from Nevada to the U.S. House.

“On the other side, Donald Trump has based his entire campaign on demonizing the Latino community and fear-mongering against Mexican immigrants. Instead of standing up against these attacks, Nevada Republicans like Congressman Heck, Congressman Hardy and Danny Tarkanian have doubled down on anti-immigrant policies and shown their unequivocal support for Trump and his hateful agenda. Our diverse state deserves better from its leaders.”
