Reno, NV – Indiana Governor Mike Pence, the most extreme VP pick in a generation, is headed to Northern Nevada today to introduce himself to voters. Hopefully Pence will also take the time to explain the hatred behind Donald Trump’s latest disqualifying controversy, a series of disrespectful attacks against a fallen soldier’s family.
But we won’t hold our breath – last night, instead of denouncing his running mate’s disturbing behavior, Governor Pence issued a flailing statement that declined to apologize for Trump’s malicious confrontations while desperately seeking to rewrite the last 72 hours of the campaign.
“Even for the most offensive presidential campaign in modern history, Donald Trump trying to smear a Gold Star family and Mike Pence seeming to defend those attacks is an appalling new low,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesman Stewart Boss.
