Las Vegas, NV – Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fundendorsed Henderson community leader Jacky Rosen for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District. In the endorsement, the organization highlighted Jacky’s commitment to expanding Nevada’s clean energy economy and protecting the state’s parks and public lands. As President of Congregation Ner Tamid in Henderson, Jacky led a team to build a $1.6 million solar installation, one of the largest projects of its kind for a nonprofit in Henderson.
Jacky’s record stands in stark contrast with her extreme Republican opponent Danny Tarkanian, whose environmental priorities consist of selling off Nevada’s public lands, turning Yucca Mountain into a nuclear waste dump, and dismissing climate change as “fraudulent.”
“Just like Donald Trump, Danny Tarkanian thinks climate change is a hoax, and he’d do nothing in Congress to tackle this urgent threat that exacerbates drought and wildfires in the West and puts our national security at risk,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesman Stewart Boss. “Southern Nevadans are going to have a clear choice between a pro-Yucca climate change denier whose extreme public lands rhetoric is hard to distinguish from Cliven Bundy’s, and a forward-looking leader like Jacky Rosen who understands the economic opportunity of investing in clean energy and protecting our natural resources.”
