Las Vegas, NV – Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange released the following statement today on U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont endorsing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to be our next President:
“Over the course of the past year, the primary between Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders was a hard-fought contest focused on ideas and issues. I want to commend Senator Sanders for the positive and transformative campaign he ran, and I hope his supporters will stay involved in the fight for progressive change here in Nevada and across the country. We need your energy, your talent and your ideas moving forward.
“We now have the most progressive platform in Democratic Party history, and that’s a testament to their shared vision of eliminating college tuition for anyone who can’t afford it, advancing universal health care, raising wages, tackling economic inequality, investing in clean energy and reforming our broken campaign finance system. These are our values as Democrats.
“For the next four months, our team will be laser-focused on defeating Donald Trump and helping to elect Hillary Clinton, Catherine Cortez Masto and Democrats up and down the ticket. Every Nevadan who is ready to stop this racist, misogynistic con artist from getting his hands on the nuclear codes and the global economy needs to register to vote, sign up to volunteer and turn out to vote for Hillary Clinton this fall. We are stronger together, and we must all do our part to keep Trump out of the White House.”
