Ruling a victory for women in Nevada and across the country, reminder of why Nevadans cannot afford Congressman Heck & his anti-women’s health agenda
Congressman Heck opposes a woman’s right to choose, has voted 10 times to defund Planned Parenthood
Las Vegas, NV – Today, in a significant victory for women across the country, the Supreme Court struck down severe abortion restrictions in Texas. The Supreme Court reaffirmed a woman’s constitutional right to make her own decisions about her own body and health, as well as protecting a woman’s right to determine her own future.
While today is a success for women across the country and their right to choose, it also serves as a reminder of the continued assault on women’s health by Republicans like Donald Trump and Congressman Heck. Congressman Heck not only supports eliminating a woman’s right to choose, he has also voted 10 times to defund Planned Parenthood, and supports Donald Trump, who thinks women who get abortions should be “punished.”
“While today’s decision is a victory for women’s health, access to reproductive healthcare is still in jeopardy because of Republicans like Donald Trump and Congressman Heck,” said Sarah Zukowski, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party. “Congressman Heck’s record speaks for itself – he opposes a woman’s right to choose and voted multiple times to defund Planned Parenthood. This comes as no surprise, given his endorsement for Donald Trump – a man who has demeaned and debased women for decades – yet is disappointing nonetheless.”
