Congressman Heck Leads Debut of LCV’s ‘2016 Dirty Dozen’ List
Las Vegas, NV – Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) debuted its 2016 Dirty Dozen list, a 20-year program that ensures voters are aware of candidates’ anti-clean energy and anti-environment records, with Congressman Heck leading the list. LCV noted Congressman Heck’s record of failure to protect the environment and promoting a clean energy economy, as well as his continued denial that the climate is changing.
“Congressman Heck has spent his career selling out Nevadans for special interests like Big Oil,” said Sarah Zukowski, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party. “Time and again Congressman Heck has voted to protect tax breaks for Big Oil companies while leaving Nevada working families hung out to dry. And Congressman Heck’s insistence that climate change isn’t real is just like his continued belief that Donald Trump is fit to be President of the United States – based on nothing but fear-mongering, conspiracy theories, and hot air.”
