Reno, NV – Well, that’s awkward… Governor Brian Sandoval just made it crystal clear that he is definitely not endorsing his former chief of staff Heidi Gansert for state Senate before the June 14 primary. When Sandoval was asked why he’s helping other Republican legislative candidates but not Gansert, he told the Reno Gazette-Journal dismissively: “I’m not focused on that race right now.” Ouch!
Gov. on no Gansert endorsement despite fundraising for folks like Jason Guinasso and PK O'Neill: "I'm not focused on that race right now."

The two politicians are childhood friends, so the tension is without a doubt because Gansert still refuses to say whether or not she’d have voted for Sandoval’s bipartisan tax package for public education. For the record, it’s now been almost nine months since Gansert’s “bizarre, ridiculous and unsustainable” silence on Sandoval’s tax package started.
Sandoval’s indifference is bad news for Gansert, who is still mired in a primary fight with conservative small business owner Eugene Hoover while Democrats gear up for the general election in this key swing district. Reno attorney Devon Reese outraised both Republicans combined so far this year.
