Congressman Heck “Proud to be a 100% Voter” for Special Interest Group Funded by Koch Brothers and Big Business

Group works to prevent increase in the minimum wage and paycheck fairness, fights for tax breaks for special interests and billionaires

Las Vegas, NV – Last week, Congressman Heck gained the endorsement of yet another special interest group bankrolled by the Koch Brothers, this time from the so-called National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). Congressman Heck has touted the backing of the NFIB, a group that is a well-known front for and propped up by Big Oil and the Koch Brothers, stating, “I’m proud to be a 100 percent voter for NFIB issues…”

In case you forgot, the “NFIB issues” that Congressman Heck is so proud to vote for 100% of the time include:

  • Extending tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans
  • Ensuring tax breaks for large corporations and companies that ship American jobs overseas
  • Opposing “any effort” to raise the minimum wage
  • Opposing legislation to ensure women are paid equal to men for equal work
  • Opposing the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion

It’s sad, yet not surprising, that Congressman Heck is ‘proud’ to stand with a group that pushes the agenda of large corporations, Big Oil, and the Koch Brothers at the expense of Nevada families,” said Sarah Zukowski, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party. “Whether it’s opposing an increase in the minimum wage, voting for budgets that cut taxes for billionaires like Donald Trump while slashing investments for the middle class, or supporting tax breaks for corporations that ship American jobs overseas, Congressman Heck is a reliable vote for his Party’s bosses in Washington and the wealthy special interests propping up his campaign.”
