Las Vegas, NV – Catherine Cortez Masto received more support for her candidacy to be Nevada’s next U.S. Senator today with the endorsement of End Citizens United (ECU) PAC, a grassroots-funded organization dedicated to overturning Citizens United and reforming campaign finance laws. Cortez Masto was one of the first Attorneys General in the country to take on the Big Banks, securing over $1.9 billion in relief for Nevada homeowners.
Meanwhile, her Republican opponents Congressman Heck and Sharron Angle have been backed by millions of dollars from the Koch Brothers and other dark-money groups. Just a few weeks ago, Congressman Heck met with the Koch-backed group, Libre Initiative, an organization with an out-of-touch, extremist agenda – just like Congressman Heck’s! Both Angle and Congressman Heck oppose increasing the minimum wage, giving women equal pay for equal work, repealing the Affordable Care Act, and restricting voting rights, to name a few.
“It makes sense that Congressman Heck would meet with the Koch Brothers’ Libre Initiative since they share his extreme, partisan agenda that is completely out of touch with the concerns of hard working Nevadans,” said Sarah Zukowski, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party. “Instead of fighting for Nevada families, Sharron Angle and Congressman Heck are working to push an extremist agendas supported by out-of-touch billionaires like the Koch Brothers.”
