Las Vegas, NV – What’s the hold-up Michael Roberson?
On caucus night in Nevada, Republican voters overwhelmingly rejected Marco Rubio. It was an embarrassing setback for establishment politicians like former Tom DeLay operative and GOP Senate boss Michael Roberson, who endorsed and campaigned for the Florida Senator with no accomplishments and no realistic path now to being the Republican presidential nominee. And last night, Donald Trump followed up his YUUUGE! Nevada win with a Super Tuesday sweep that cements his frontrunner status.
Republican politicians across Nevada are falling in line with the Trump wave, even though Trump “could be a major drag on Republicans up and down the ballot.” In fact, Trump is so dangerous for the country that even Roberson’s political mentor Tom DeLay is saying he wouldn’t support Trump as the Republican nominee.
While Roberson has stayed conspicuously silent, Governor Sandoval, Senator Heller, Congressman Heck and Congressman Hardy have all committed to backing Trump if/when he becomes the Republican Party’s standard-bearer for 2016.
“With Marco Rubio fading fast, Nevada voters deserve to know if former Tom DeLay operative and GOP Senate boss Michael Roberson will stand with the Republican Party’s divisive presidential frontrunner Donald Trump if he’s the nominee,” said Nevada State Democratic Party Press Secretary Stewart Boss. “Roberson already shares Trump’s extreme political agenda to demonize immigrants and make life harder for working families. Will Roberson disavow the controversial celebrity, or will he embrace his Tea Party roots and support Trump’s troubling bid for the White House?”
