Las Vegas, NV – The last week has been quite a whirlwind here in Nevada politics: Nevada Republicans fully embraced GOP Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump and Nevada’s Republican Congressional delegation called on the Senate to do its job and act on the vacant Supreme Court seat. Sorry, scratch that – ALMOST all of the delegation.
Nevada’s U.S. Senator Dean Heller, Congressman Mark Amodei, and now, Congressman Cresent Hardy have all said the same thing: Congress should do its job and give any nominee a fair hearing. Even grassroots conservative Sharron Angle, who isn’t an official Republican Senate candidate (yet), has voiced a clear opinion on the matter.
The only Republican that has yet to offer an intelligible answer on the matter? You guessed it! None other than C-3PO…sorry, Congressman Heck! Well, he said something, but we don’t count “each entity should exercise its prerogative” as an answer.
“Now that every U.S. Senate candidate and member of Nevada’s Republican delegation have clearly voiced their thoughts on the Supreme Court seat, what is Congressman Heck waiting for?” said Sarah Zukowski, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party. “It’s time Congressman Heck stop the Washington-speak and take a page out of his anti-immigrant, anti-woman ideological soul mate Donald Trump’s playbook and tell it like it is. Nevadans deserve to know where he stands on the issue.”
