Reno, NV – The Republican Party’s clown car of presidential candidates – or at least what’s left of it – is rolling into Nevada ahead of tomorrow’s GOP caucus.
With Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz campaigning in Reno today, Nevada State Democratic Party First Vice Chair and former Washoe Dems Chair Chris Wicker issued the following statement:
“Thanks to President Obama’s leadership over the past seven years, our country’s economy is finally back on track. But Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are living in an alternate universe, and today they’ll be in Reno trying to sell their misguided agenda to return us to the same failed Bush-era economic policies that caused thousands of Nevadans to lose their jobs, their homes and their life savings. Neither of these extreme candidates supports policies that will help working families like raising the minimum wage, paid family leave, affordable childcare or equal pay for equal work for women. And they’re both competing to see who can be the most anti-immigrant candidate in the GOP field, opposing commonsense immigration reform that would grow Nevada’s economy and vowing to end protections that keep immigrant families from being torn apart. That’s not the leadership Nevadans are looking for in the White House.”
