Over 31,000 Nevadans Pre-Register Online for Today’s First in the West Presidential Caucus

Las Vegas, NV – As the doors prepare to open for Nevada’s First in the West Democratic presidential caucus today at 11 a.m. PT, more than 31,000 voters have already pre-registered to participate using Caucus Express, the party’s innovative new online pre-registration tool. This tool will allow caucus goers to save time with an express check-in at their caucus location today.

“The Nevada State Democratic Party has worked diligently this cycle to make the caucus process as easy, simple and accessible as possible for voters to participate in this important process. We’re thrilled more than 31,000 Nevadans took advantage of our pre-registration tool,” said Cory Warfield, Nevada State Democratic Party Presidential Caucus Director. “Building on our successful competitive caucus in 2008, Caucus Express is helping us improve the caucus process in 2016 by streamlining our communication with tens of thousands of attendees and speeding up today’s check-in process. This has been a tremendously successful program, and we’re looking forward to continuing to find ways to bring new innovations to the process.”

Pre-registration was designed as an easy three-step form that can be completed online, including on your mobile device, atcaucus.nvdems.com. Voters entered their personal information and were matched with their correct precinct caucus location based on voter registration records.

How it works on Caucus Day: Users who successfully pre-registered today received their caucus location and updates about the caucus via email and were also able to enroll in text message alerts. For voters who have pre-registered, they will see a special phone number posted near the entrance line. When they text their unique code to that number from their mobile device, they can proceed to the express check-in lane.
