NV Dems Chair: Chaotic, Unruly Debate Sets Divisive Tone for Nevada GOP Caucus

Las Vegas, NV  Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange released the following statement in response to the final Republican presidential debate before the Nevada GOP caucus on Tuesday, February 23:

“Tonight’s chaotic and unruly Republican presidential debate sets the divisive tone for the GOP’s caucus here in Nevada in just 10 days. From immediately injecting partisan politics into Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s death to the relentless back-and-forth between Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio on whose record is the most offensive to immigrants, it’s clear that all of these candidates are too extreme for Nevada. But more than that, tonight’s debate – full of personal confrontations, petty attacks and empty partisan rhetoric – reminded Nevadans that none of the candidates on that stage tonight are ready to sit in the Oval Office as our next President. We look forward to the contrast our Democratic candidates will offer this coming week as they campaign across Nevada and talk about their plans to continue our progress and keep this country moving forward.”
