SAVE THE DATE – Thursday, February 18 in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV – The Nevada State Democratic Party announced today that it will sponsor a town hall event with Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in Las Vegas, with Telemundo and MSNBC as broadcast partners. The town hall will take place on the evening of Thursday, February 18 – just two days before Nevada’s First in the West presidential caucus on Saturday, February 20.
“No other early state matches Nevada’s demographic and cultural diversity, and the Latino community makes up more than a quarter of our state’s population,” said Roberta Lange, Nevada State Democratic Party Chairwoman. “Mobilizing Latino supporters will be absolutely critical for our Democratic presidential nominee to win in key Western battleground states like Nevada this November. While Republican candidates have repeatedly disrespected, dismissed, and insulted Latinos on the campaign trail, Democrats are working to address their goals and concerns on issues ranging from college affordability to immigration reform. We are looking forward to this important town hall discussion with our presidential candidates, with Telemundo and MSNBC as our broadcast partners.”
Nevada’s Democratic caucuses are on Saturday, February 20 at 11 a.m. PT. Democrats allow same-day voter registration at caucus locations, and any eligible voter who will be 18 years old by Election Day (November 8, 2016) can caucus. Eligible Nevada voters can now use the NV Dems website to pre-register for the caucus and find their precinct caucus location.
