Las Vegas, NV – U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid hosted a press conference today at the Nevada State Democratic Party to preview the upcoming “Battle Born / Battleground” First in the West Caucus Dinner. Wednesday’s event will bring Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders to the MGM Grand as the presidential candidates ramp up their efforts to win Nevada’s Democratic caucuses.
“Nevada is a newer caucus state and, as it was in 2008, it will be competitive. I fought for Nevada as an early state because it reflects the diversity that makes our nation great. I look forward to the caucus on February 20th as Nevada Democrats will choose between three stellar candidates. Each of these candidates – Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley – would do far more for this country in their first 100 days in office than any Republican would do in their entire tenure.” –U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid
Nevada will be the first Western state and the third state in the country to make its voice heard in the Democratic presidential primary. Senator Reid played a critical role in pushing Nevada to the front of the line on the presidential calendar in 2008. Nevada’s Democratic caucuses will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
