Las Vegas, NV – Over the weekend, Roll Call reminded people how little daylight there is between GOP Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump and Congressman Heck. In a story on how Trump’s right-wing immigration views could hurt down-ballot Republicans, Roll Call reported that Trump put Congressman Heck in “a tight spot when Trump declared to ABC News that the U.S.-born children of undocumented immigrants ‘have to go.’”
But we’re not so sure if Congressman Heck feels Trump has put him in a “tight spot.” After all, the same story notes that when reporters asked Congressman Heck if he agreed with Trump, he essentially said yes.
“Yet again we’re reminded that ethically-challenged Congressman Heck holds the same backwards views on immigration and repealing birthright citizenship as Donald Trump,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Zach Hudson. “Instead of working to pass comprehensive immigration reform, Congressman Heck continues to join Donald Trump in attacking the citizenship of American citizens born to immigrant families.”
