Congressman Heck “Jobs Tour” Gets Sidetracked by Social Security Privatization Proposal

Reno, NV – As Congressman Heck begins to campaign in Northern Nevada today, he isn’t getting the media coverage his campaign intended.  While wanting his photo-op in Reno today to be about “jobs,” Heck’s past comments calling Social Security a “pyramid scheme” and support for privatizing the program dominated most of the coverage of Heck’s visit.

The Reno Gazette-Journal’s Ray Hagar noted that Heck “got sidetracked on his message” by Heck’s record on Social Security.  KOLO 8 in Reno reported that while Heck came to “talk about jobs,” “Democrats changed the subject” to talk about Heck’s Social Security privatization proposal.
