Scott Walker Picks “I’d Vote For Slavery” Jim Wheeler to Run Nevada Campaign

Las Vegas, NV – This morning, Jon Ralston reported that Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker has designated Nevada Assemblyman Jim Wheeler as his “point man” in Nevada.  For those unfamiliar with Jim Wheeler, here is a quick reminder: he’s the guy who said he would vote for slavery if his constituents wanted it.  No, really — he said that.

We understand the folks at the Walker campaign are busy.  But couldn’t they… you know… Google someone’s name before choosing them to run his campaign in a critical early state?  Seriously, it’s the first thing that comes up when you Google Wheeler’s name.

“It’s an alarming sign about Scott Walker’s agenda that he would pick someone who said he would bring back slavery if his constituents wanted it to run Walker’s Nevada campaign,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Zach Hudson.  “Scott Walker should be denouncing Jim Wheeler for his outrageous remarks, not rewarding him with a position on Walker’s campaign.”
