Roberson & Senate GOP Vote to Keep Guns in the Hands of Domestic Abusers & Stalkers

Las Vegas, NV – Today, former Tom DeLay operative and GOP Senate boss Michael Roberson and Senate Republicans voted against a series of amendments that would have prohibited domestic abusers and stalkers from carrying weapons.  The amendments would have prohibited persons convicted of stalking from owning or possessing a firearm and prohibited people under extended orders of protection for domestic violence from possessing firearms.

“Michael Roberson and Senate Republicans just voted against protecting domestic assault and stalking victims,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Zach Hudson. “The fact that Roberson and Senate Republicans would vote to keep guns in the hands of domestic abusers and stalkers again demonstrates that Roberson’s voluntary background checks bill was about politics, not keeping Nevada communities safe.”
