Reno, NV – Nevada Democrats unanimously re-elected Roberta Lange as Chair of the Nevada State Democratic Party today in Reno. The State Central Committee also elected Chris Wicker as First Vice-Chair and re-elected Linda Cavazos as Second Vice-Chair, Marla Turner as Secretary, and Jan Churchill as Treasurer.
Upon being re-elected, Lange released the following statement:
“I am honored to be entrusted to again serve Nevada Democrats as Chair in one of the most important elections cycles for Nevada in recent memory. We have a lot of work to do in the coming months to prepare for our first in the west Presidential caucuses and the general election next year where we will reelect Nevada Senator Harry Reid, again win Nevada for the Democratic nominee for President, win back seats in our congressional delegation, and take back our Democratic majorities in both chambers of the legislature.
“We’ve seen the damage Republicans are doing to middle class families in Carson City and Washington. From Michael Roberson and legislative Republicans’ efforts to repeal the minimum wage and cut middle class families’ paychecks while giving tax breaks to the wealthy and their big campaign donors, to Cresent Hardy and Joe Heck marching in lockstep with House Republicans in their efforts to slash Medicare and Social Security while protecting tax breaks for corporations that ship American jobs overseas, Nevada’s middle class is seeing first hand that Republicans in Congress and the legislature aren’t looking out for them. I look forward to working with Democrats across Nevada to reelect Senator Reid next year and elect Democrats up and down the ballot who will fight to ensure everyone has a fair shot at success, not just the wealthy.”
The Nevada State Democratic Party State Central Committee also approved today the 2016 delegate selection plan.
