NV Dems Chair Statement on Legislative Democrats’ Equal Pay Legislation

Las Vegas, NVNevada State Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange released the following statement on legislative Democrats’ equal pay for equal work legislation:

“While some Republicans in Washington DC and Carson City oppose paycheck fairness or even deny that there is pay discrimination in the United States, this bill by Assembly and Senate Democrats will help level the playing field for Nevada women and middle class families.  Given the gutting of fair pay laws by Senate Republicans just a few weeks ago, passing the protections for Nevada women contained in this bill could not be more important in the fight to achieve paycheck fairness for women and working families.  On behalf of Nevada women I want to thank Assembly Democratic Leader Marilyn Kirkpatrick, Senator Pat Spearman, and every Democrat in the legislature for proposing this common sense proposal that will help ensure every Nevadan has a fair shot at success, not just the wealthy.  If legislative Republicans want to be taken seriously on paycheck fairness, they will sign on to this bill today.”
