Roberson and Senate GOP Hurt Nevada Homeowners, Help Their Campaign Donors

Las Vegas, NV – Gutting fair pay for working families – check. Weakening anti-domestic violence legislation – check.  Passing Roberson’s top priority of rewarding the wealthy special-interests who bankroll his campaign committees – add it to the list.

Today, GOP Senate boss and former Tom DeLay operative Michael Roberson, absentee Senator Greg Brower, and Nevada Senate Republicans rammed through the legislature Roberson’s pet cause, construction defect legislation that will line the pockets of Roberson’s campaign donors.  Legislative session after legislative session, Roberson has made passing this handout to his campaign donors his top priority.  Last session, he even threatened to hold education funding hostage to pass this bill to rig the system for his donors at the expense of Nevada homeowners.  Today, Roberson delivered what his campaign donors apparently paid for, hurting Nevada homeowners in the process.

“This bill will hurt Nevada homeowners and help Michael Roberson’s campaign donors,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Zach Hudson.  “Michael Roberson and legislative Republicans again made clear today that lining the pockets of the wealthy special interests who bankroll their campaign committees is more important than the welfare of Nevada homeowners.”
