Statement on Hardy, Heck, & Amodei Trying to Whitewash Anti-Immigrant Record

Las Vegas, NVNevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Zach Hudson released the following statement on accidental Congressman Cresent Hardy, career politician and lobbyist Mark Amodei, and DACA-killing Joe Heck’s votes on defunding President Obama’s deferred action program:

“One vote does not make up for Cresent Hardy, Joe Heck, and Mark Amodei’s long record of opposing this program that has prevented thousands of DREAmers from being deported.  Joe Heck and Mark Amodei both previously voted to kill this program and Cresent Hardy said he would have voted with them.  Nevada’s Latino community has watched House Republicans do nothing for two years on immigration reform while incessantly voting to sue President Obama and repeal the Affordable Care Act.  If Hardy, Heck, and Amodei were serious about helping the immigrant community they would actually do something to pass an immigration reform bill rather than holding token show votes when Republicans already had enough votes to pass their bill defunding deferred action.”
