WRAP-UP: GOP Attempt to Distract From Amodei Plan to Kill Medicare Gets Taken Off the Air

Las Vegas, NV – Facts can be stubborn things, especially for Mark Amodei and Washington Republicans.  As Mark Amodei and his Republican friends in Washington desperately try to distract the voters in CD 2 from Amodei’s plan to kill Medicare, their false smears against Kate Marshall are being pulled from the air as fast as they can put them up.  The ad had already been discredited by the Las Vegas Sun, and now, in an extremely rare move, Reno television stations are taking the ads off the air.

Last Friday, the AP reported that KTVN in Reno took an Amodei/NRCC attack ad off the air, saying their smears were “unsubstantiated.”  Even more embarrassing for Mark Amodei and the NRCC, the KTVN station manager told the AP that the station had not done this in at least 20 years.

Following that, yesterday, KOLO 8 in Reno reported they were joining KTVN in pulling the ad off the air, an ad which had already been called “patently false” by Jon Ralston.

While Washington Republicans will likely continue to use false attacks to try to overshadow Mark Amodei’s  billion dollar tax package and reckless agenda that would destroy Nevada jobs and kill Medicare, maybe next time they’ll do a little homework first.
