SENIORS BEWARE: Dean Heller Appointed to Senate Aging Committee

Las Vegas, NV – Sadly, this is not a joke.  Appointed Senator Dean Heller announced today that he has been assigned to the Senate’s Special Committee on Aging, whose goal to guard the welfare of seniors in Nevada and throughout the country.  However, Heller has already said he is proud to be able to vote twice for the GOP plan to end Medicare as we know it to pay for more  giveaways for Big Oil.

“It is alarming for Nevada seniors that their appointed Senator who wants to end Medicare as we know it is now on the Senate’s Special Committee on Aging,” said Zach Hudson, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party.  “Dean Heller’s reckless agenda would increase insurance premiums by $6,000 a year and nearly double the cost of prescription drugs seniors pay.  Nevada seniors are right to be concerned that Heller can now advocate his plan to end Medicare as we know it on the Senate Aging Committee.”
