Sandoval Endorses Rick Perry After His Statement that Social Security is a “Ponzi Scheme”
Las Vegas, NV - Governor Brian Sandoval pushed Nevada seniors completely under the bus today as he endorsed Texas Governor Rick Perry for President. Perry, apparently unaware of the
fallout after the last time a politician compared the program to a criminal enterprise, has repeatedly, as recently as last week, called Social Security a “ponzi scheme”, “unconstitutional”, and a “monstrous lie.”
“Governor Sandoval today made clear that rather than focusing on job-creation and turning Nevada’s economy around, his priorities are appeasing extremists in the TEA Party like Rick Perry who think a program that millions of Americans rely on for their livelihood is a criminal enterprise,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Zach Hudson. “Governor Sandoval’s announcement is a slap in the face to Nevada seniors who already suffer from representatives in Congress who are repeatedly voting to kill Medicare by turning it over to private insurance companies. While we are sure Joe Heck appreciates Sandoval giving him cover in apparently not being the only Nevada Republican who thinks Social Security is a criminal enterprise, Nevada seniors are not amused.”
