Nevada Replaces Two Timing Senator With Three Timing Dean Heller
Las Vegas, NV – It’s official. Unelected Senator Dean Heller voted this morning for the third time to kill Medicare by handing it over to profit hungry insurance companies, gutting Social Security and killing nearly one million jobs.
Heller had previously said he was proud to be the only member of Congress to vote twice to end Medicare. His vote today for the so-called “Cut, Cap and Balance” plan marks his third vote to destroy the program.
"Nevada replaced a two-timing senator with three-timing Dean Heller, who has the dubious distinction of being the only politician in Washington to have voted three times to kill Medicare by turning it over to profit hungry insurance companies," said Zach Hudson, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party. "Today’s announcement of an increase in Nevada’s unemployment numbers shows that job creation should be the top priority. Yet, Dean Heller is repeatedly voting to end Medicare, gut Social Security, and kill jobs in order to protect tax breaks for companies that ship American jobs overseas. Thankfully Nevadans have a clear choice next year between Dean Heller’s reckless agenda of destroying jobs, killing Medicare and undermining Social Security, and Shelley Berkley’s commitment to putting Nevadans back to work and protecting seniors."
