Heller Votes To Protect Big Oil, Not Nevada Seniors

Las Vegas, NV – Appointed Senator Dean Heller cast his first vote on policy legislation in the Senate today,  voting against reducing the budget deficit by eliminating billions of dollars in tax giveaways to Big Oil.  Nevada State Democratic Party Communications Director Zach Hudson issued the following statement in response:

“Dean Heller has made it abundantly clear that his priority as Nevada's appointed senator is his Big Oil campaign contributors, not Nevada's seniors, veterans or taxpayers.  From voting to destroy thousands of Nevada jobs to ending Medicare as we know it to pay for billions in taxpayer giveaways to Big Oil, Dean Heller clearly has the wrong priorities for Nevada.

“Voters are beginning to see that this election is about a clear choice between Shelley Berkley's commitment to creating jobs and Dean Heller's reckless agenda to throw seniors under the bus in order to line the pockets of oil executives."
