Does Dean Heller Agree with Joe Heck that Social Security is a Pyramid Scheme?

Las Vegas, NV – With Rep. Joe Heck receiving non-stop media coverage over his comments calling Social Security a “pyramid scheme”, unelected Senator Dean Heller has so far been silent about Pyramidgate.

“Considering Dean Heller is proud to be the only member of Congress who voted twice to end Medicare, it wouldn’t be surprising if he agrees with Joe Heck that Social Security is a ‘pyramid scheme’,” said Zach Hudson, spokesperson for the Nevada State Democratic Party.  “Joe Heck has been rightly criticized for revealing his true feelings about Social Security and Nevadans deserve to know whether Dean Heller shares Heck’s belief that the program is a ‘pyramid scheme’ or an essential program that Nevada seniors rely on.

"Heller’s silence on this highlights the clear choice Nevadans face between Shelley Berkley, who has been an outspoken advocate in fighting to protect Social Security and Medicare, and Dean Heller who voted twice to end Medicare and so far refuses to condemn Joe Heck’s outrageous comment.  ”
