Assemblywoman Teresa Benitez-Thompson Statement in Support of American Jobs Act

Las Vegas, NV - Nevada Assemblywoman Teresa Benitez-Thompson issued the following statement today in support of President Obama’s American Jobs Act:

 

“Last night, President Obama unveiled a comprehensive jobs plan to get our economy moving and put Nevadans back to work.  With Nevada suffering from the highest unemployment in the country, it is simply unacceptable for Congress not to act.  The American Jobs Act will cut taxes for Nevada’s middle class and help businesses hire more workers, along with continuing to provide desperately needed assistance to Nevadans struggling to find work.

 

“Too many Nevadans are out of work for Congress to be focused on anything else but job-creation, yet Washington Republicans have their priorities completely upside down.  As a medical social worker, I work with too many deserving Nevadans who rely on Medicare to allow Republicans to kill the program by turning it over to private insurance companies.  They should stop trying to kill Medicare and move immediately to pass the American Jobs Act and get Nevadans back to work.”
